Chinese handset maker Vivo has announced the Nex 3 and its 5G variant, called the Nex 3 5G, in its home country.
The device will go on sale starting September 21. The USP of the handset is its design that offers a 99.6% screen-to-body ratio that Vivo calls Waterfall FullView Display. The display is of 6.89-inch Super AMOLED panel that offers FullHD+ resolution of 1080 × 2256 pixel. The display houses an in-screen fingerprint sensor as well.
The handset comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with Adreno 640 GPU. The handset skips the side physical keys but instead has Touch Sense, which “more exquisite vibration feedback in various use cases”, as per Vivo.
For imaging duties, the device offers a 16-megapixel pop-up camera with f/2.0 aperture. The popup part of the camera now also houses an LED soft light, which is why it is wider. Vivo claims the selfie camera can pop-out in 0.65 seconds. On the back there is a triple rear camera setup that offers a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor, a 13 MP wide-angle shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 120 degrees and a 13 MP telephoto camera with f/2.48 aperture.
Backed by a 4,500mAh battery, the Vivo Nex 3 offers 44W ultra-fast flash charging. The handset is claimed to charge from 0% battery to 67% level in just 30 minutes and reach full charge in just 64 minutes.
Running on Android 9.0 Pie, the Vivo Nex 3 comes a t a starting price of CNY 4998 (approximately Rs 50,600) for the base variant offering 8GB RAM and 128GB. The 5G variant of the Vivo Nex 3 offers 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and costs CNY 5698 (approximately Rd 57,700). There is another variant in the 5G model that costs CNY 6198 (approximately Rs 62,700).
