Hello and welcome one and all to an all-new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you!

We’re knee deep into the month of August and that means that Summer is sadly beginning to wind down. This month we have a lot of new toys and collectibles hitting the market to be on shelves in time for fall and the eventual holiday rush. Thankfully we still have plenty of new stuff to look forward to this week with announcements from some of our favorite companies like NECA, Super7, Hasbro, and more! Scroll down to check out the Toy News for the week of August 6th, 2019 below!

Halloween Comes Early

August may have just begun, but the team at NECA is ready for Halloween to arrive! This week they revealed our first look at the final packaging and details for their upcoming 7″ scale Ultimate ‘Halloween II’ Michael Meyers figure! The new Ultimate Michael Meyers sports more than 25 points of articulation and comes packaged with a number of film specific accessories as well as three interchangeable heads. Thankfully you won’t have to actually wait until October 31st to add him to your collection, as he starts shipping in September! Check out the full solicitation from NECA below.

Due to popular demand, NECA delves into the classic Halloween movies! Based on his appearance in 1981’s Halloween 2, Michael stands over 7″ tall and has received the Ultimate treatment, with over 25 points of articulation and tons of accessories. The figure comes with 3 heads, syringe, knife, hammer, and opening jack o’ lantern. Comes in display-friendly deluxe window box packaging with opening flap.

Predator Knows Fear

Earlier this summer at San Diego Comic Con, NECA had a number of convention exclusives, but two figure sets in specific  left fans begging for more! Two of the hottest NECA SDCC exclusives this year were their new ‘DC Comics Vs Dark Horse Comics’ sets featuring Armored Batman vs a Predator and Superman Vs an Alien Warrior. After these first sets were such a rousing success, NECA is teasing two more sets that are anticipated to release this fall at New York Comic Con!

One of these NYCC Exclusive sets, which we saw teased at Toy Fair way back in spring 2018, features Batman and a Joker Alien. But what about the other? Well, after months of rumors and speculation, NECA has finally given us our first look at one of the two figures in the form of a Sinestro Corps Predator!  This also means that it’s pretty safe to assume that this fiendish yellow Predator will be packaged alongside an all new Green Lantern figure. Check out the new image below and stay tuned for more information soon!

New Power Rangers Ready To Go-Go!

It still feels like the first wave just hit stores, but the team at Hasbro is ready to go with a slew of new additions to their 6″ scale ‘Power Rangers: Lightning Collection’ line! The next wave of figures is planned to release later this summer and includes some newer characters like the Red and Yellow Beast Morphers Rangers, plus some classic fan favorites like the Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger and the Lost Galaxy Magna Ranger!

In addition to these single releases, Hasbro has also announced a special new figure 2-pack that includes the Mighty Morphin Green Ranger and a Putty! Both figures comes with a number of interchangeable parts and accessories.

Thankfully for long time fans of the brand, it appears that Hasbro is picking up where Bandai left off with their life-sized prop replicas from the show! Coming soon is the all new life-sized Mighty Morphin White Ranger Helmet! Hasbro does prop replicas for their ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Marvel’ lines, so this isn’t too shocking, but its great to see that they are tackling new items rather than rehashing the items that Bandai already previously produced.

These new Power Rangers items from Hasbro are all up for preorder on Hasbro Pulse now!

New Marvel Legends Swinging In Soon

So far this year,  Hasbro has announced an absolutely insane amount of new figures for their 6″ Marvel Legends line! This week they’re adding two more figures to the list with some new ‘Spider-Man’ themed villains that will soon be coming to your collection. The two latest Marvel Legends figures to join the line are White Rabbit and Superior Octopus! These figures are both due to hit the market before years end.

“I’d Buy That For A Dollar!”

Even decades later, fans still can’t seem to get enough of ‘Robocop’! Thankfully for them, the team at Super7 seems to agree,  and they’re bringing us an all new line of 3.75″ retro-styled ReAction figures based on the classic film.

The line, which was first shown earlier this year at Toy Fair, looks to be made up of two waves of three figures each, as well as a deluxe scale ED-209 figure. The first wave is made up of Robocop, Battle-Damaged Robocop, and Melty Emil Antonowsky. This first wave is getting ready to hit the market in the coming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out!

Funko Ready To ‘Get Out’

Jordan Peele’s directorial debut film ‘Get Out’ blew audiences away when it released back in 2017. Funko may be a little bit late to the game on this one, but they’re finally making up for it with the release of two new POP! Vinyls based on the hit horror film. There will be a widely released POP! of Chris in a chair, while a special Bloody Chris figure will be available exclusively at the Funko Shop website. Here’s hoping that we see a few more characters pop-up later! These new ‘Get Out’ POP! Vinyls are due to release later this summer.

The Bandicoot Is Back

Classic 90’s gaming icon Crash Bandicoot has spent the last few years making a triumphant return to mainstream media. Funko has already released a number of Crash Bandicoot items, so it’s definitely exciting to see them announcing plans for more collectibles being added into the mix later this summer! New Crash Bandicoot POP! Vinyls fans can look forward to include Tiny Tiger, Nitros Oxide, and a new ‘Spinning’ variant of Crash Bandicoot himself!

In addition to these new POP! Vinyls, Funko will also be releasing some mini vinyl figures based on the ‘Crash Team Racing’ game that features all of your favorite Crash Bandicoot characters driving go-karts! this wave will include Crash, Coco, Neo Cortex, Nitros Oxide, Riper Roo, and Polar!

Walgreens Weaves A Wicked Web

This fall Walgreens is teaming up with Funko once again to bring you some all new exclusive POP! Vinyls based on everyone’s favorite webslinger, Spider-Man! Fans can look forward to tracking down Octo-Spidey, Bombastic Bag-Man, and Future Foundation Spider-Man exclusively available at Walgreens stores later this year!
