OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro users can now download and install the latest Android Q Beta Preview build on their smartphone. OnePlus has announced this via their official website which also includes the upgrade download package.
Before moving forward with the steps on how to download the latest version of Android, there are a few things one should know about flashing the ROM. This is a Developer Preview build and the ROM can have several issues. OnePlus has already mentioned a few problems with this Android Q beta build on their official blog. Known issues are Reading mode not working, Display mode not working, etc.
- OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone with a minimum 30 per cent of battery
- Make sure to have minimum 3GB of free storage space
- Flashing the ROM will erase all the data and apps from the device, so make sure to take complete backup.
How to install the Android Q beta 2
Now connect your smartphone to the PC and transfer the downloaded file to the smartphone
Visit ‘https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/android-q-developer-preview-2-for-oneplus-7-pro-7.1054712/’ and download the latest ROM package from the specified server
Once done, head to Settings and then the system
Now, tap on System Updates option and then hit the ‘Gear’ icon from the top-right corner
In the next window, look for the option Local upgrade and tap on it
Select the corresponding installation package and tap on the ‘Upgrade’ icon
Once the process is complete, Tap Restart
Now, the phone will automatically boot into the recovery mode to format user data and it will reboot automatically.

In case something goes wrong or just want to go back to the stable version, OnePlus also allows users to rollback to the stable version of the operating system by flashing back the original package. To do this, users can simply download the ‘Rollback package from the official blog mentioned above and follow the same steps.
